How To Get The Most $ For Your Items

*Be sure to click on sub-links below Merchandise Prep on the sidebar for more detailed info

Clothing

  • Look at the items as if you were going to purchase them.

  • Be Picky.

  • Jeans should not show wear in the seat and knees. All lightweight pants should be saved until the spring sale. (ex: thin khakis and capris)

  • Due to rack space, the only short-sleeves we are able to accept for the Fall Sale is t-shirts. The JBF definition of a t-shirt is one with no-collars, no-buttons.

  • If you find yourself questioning a clothing item. "Is it too faded or worn?", "Is it still in style?" or even, "That stain is so small..." we encourage you to error on the side of caution.  By doing this, you are helping set the high standards of JBF.
  • Generally, items sell for 1/4 to 1/2 of original price, depending on condition.

  • Ask yourself "What would I pay for this item?" Name brand, top quality items sell for more.

  • Please clean and press items. A little ironing goes a long way.

  • Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads.

  • Please button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive at drop off. This will ensure that there are no defects in the clothing. Also, the newer the item looks, the better it will sell.

  • In order to keep JBF's high standards please check all clothing for current season and fashion, we unable to accept out of date clothing (must be within 5 years). *Always be mindful this is not a garage sale. Please help us keep JBF standards high.

  • Clothing size 0 - toddler size is perferrably (but not required) hung on child-size hangers. Larger clothing (usually size 4 & larger) should be hung on adult-size hangers. We accept plastic tube hangers & wire hangers.

  • Hang two pieced garments with the bottom garment attached with safety pins. Sets tend to sell better (under size 10) so match things up if you can.

  • As always we will be very selective on the items that we accept. Our goal is to provide shoppers with great items. Please look through your clothing carefully. Sometimes the light in the building picks up some stains that you miss at home, so please do not be offended if we turn any of your items away.

  • Sleepers and onesies can be in a zip-loc bag. You may put up to 3 items per bag.

Toys and Baby Equipment

  • Please click here to check the Consumer Product Safety Commission website for any recalls.

  • Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.

  • Please test to make sure that the equipment is working properly.

  • Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local dollar stores).

  • Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in zip-loc bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.

  • Games and puzzles should have ALL pieces and be in boxes taped closed.

  • Group several small items together in plastic bags (rattles, books, puzzles, toys, etc.) We recommend you list all items on the bag. Remember to tape the bag shut.

  • When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with clear packing tape that can be removed. Please do not use Scotch, masking, or double sided tape.
