volunteer and shop early!
![]() The more you volunteer the earlier you shop! |
Volunteers are what make JBF sales work. Working at a JBF sale is so much fun and we always need your help and it is a great way to make new friends. The best part of volunteering is you earn 70% on your items sold and it gains you a special pass to our Pre-Sale Event. Imagine being able to shop before the public from a selection of hundred's of items at great bargain prices. The volunteer scheduler will be open March 1, 2010. please click here to take you to the online signup page. From there you need to sign up or update your information. Be sure to check the volunteer box which will sign you up as a volunteer and allow you to access the volunteer scheduler to sign up for as many shifts as you would like. High School Students can earn Community Service Credit hours by volunteering at a JBF Sale. JBF is a community event, that benefits, in part a Grand Rapids Charity. What a great, fun way to earn credit hours. Can't make it to volunteer? Still want to shop early? Remember: We have plenty of volunteer activities appropriate for pregnant ladies! DO YOU KNOW ANY MEN WHO WOULD VOLUNTEER? Below are some of the most common JBF volunteer positions: CHECKOUT: Volunteer will scan tags as shoppers check out, count the number of items, and take payment from the shopper. SALES FLOOR: Volunteer will circulate on sales floor checking for dropped items and missing tags, straightening clothing on racks and tables, or hanging up items that were not purchased. GREETER: Volunteer will greet shoppers at the door, tag personal strollers and carriers, check for any appropriate pre-sale passes, and then direct customers to the various areas for shopping. JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES: If you can do any or all of the above then we have hit the jackpot! Sometimes we may need you at one position and then switch you to another as shifts and numbers of shoppers change. INSPECTION: On drop off day JBF needs people to check through all of the clothing brought in by consignors to make sure it meets the JBF standards (i.e. no rips, stains, or holes etc...). SET UP/DROP OFF: Volunteers will help to set up clothing racks and tables before drop off. After the sale, JBF will need volunteers to sort the unsold items and take down the clothing racks and tables. | ![]() |
